Submitting your templates correctly is crucial for ensuring a smooth review process. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to use the submission form effectively, understanding the different submission types, and handling fixes if your template needs adjustments.
For your template to be reviewed, you must complete both of the following steps:
1. Fill out the submission form https://wkf.ms/3SOwDmt
2. Upload your template to your personal G-Drive uploader link (including the ZIP file, preview MP4, and thumbnail PNG).
*Templates submitted only through Google Drive or through the form will not be reviewed. Both steps must be completed in order to start the review process.
Here is a step-by-step video tutorial.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Submit Using the Template Submission Form
- Navigate to the Templates Submission Form - https://wkf.ms/3SOwDmt
- Click on the ‘Submit a Template’ button to access the form.
2. Fill Out Crucial Fields:
- Template Name: Give your template a clear and unique name. Note: Do not submit two different templates with the same name.
- Artist ID Number
3. Understanding Submission Types
-
Note: Submissions with the incorrect submission type will be immediately rejected. Please do not mix submission types.
For example, do not combine both software addition and updating pre-existing templates in the same submission. - New Submission: Select this option if you are submitting a brand-new template.
- Software Addition: Adding an additional software version to an existing template that is already live on our site.
- Update to a Pre-Existing Submission: Select this option if you’re updating an existing template already live on our site with new features, improvements, or compatibility with a newer software version (e.g., updating from AE 2019 to AE 2022). In this case, please remember to name the template exactly as the original version. In addition, please specify the updates you are submitting in the box below.
Software Addition: Select this option to add a new software version to an existing template (e.g., adding a FCP version to a template that is already approved and available in another version).
It is important to name the template exactly as it appears live on the site, as names can sometimes change.
4. Template Metadata:
- Aspect Ratio, Resolution, Plugins
- Categories, Art Styles, Themes
Template Description:
- Keep it short and accurate.
-
Keep it generic. Do not mention the software type or the number of assets in the description.
For example, instead of "This AE template includes 12 icons of…", write "This template includes icons of…". - Do not mention features that are specific to certain software. For example, do not mention the template includes a color controller if it is available in the AE version but not in the PP version.
- Do not mention brands such as “Instagram, Facebook, YouTube,” or any other existing company.
- Tags: Add up to 20 tags, ensuring they are relevant to the template's subject.
5. Associated Links:
- Music, SFX, Footage: Make sure that these links match the preview file.
- Mention if this template already exists in Motion Array.
6. Important Notes to the Reviewer (Optional):
Please add any notes that seem relevant to you. These can include:
- Specific instructions or tips for using the template.
- Special features or highlights of the template that aren't immediately obvious.
- Any additional context or background information that may help in the review process.
Template Status
After our Curators review your template, your template will be categorized by one of the following: approved, rejected, or needs work. You will be notified of this status update via email. If your template is approved or rejected, there is no further action that needs to be taken. If it needs work, please follow the guidelines below:
Needs Work
NW Email: The most common outcome is that the template will need some fixes before it can be approved. The NW email you receive will outline the necessary changes. Once you have revised your template, please let us know using this form, so we can review it.
To submit your changes, you must enter the Form ID Number you received in your NW email, as well as the Template's Name.
3. Template Rejection: If your template is rejected, you will receive a rejection email with the reasons for the rejection.
Fixing and Resubmitting Your Template
When your template needs fixes:
1. Make the required changes to your template as described in the "Needs Work" email.
2. Update your template using the Fixed Templates Submission Form: https://wkf.ms/3J5A5mk
3. Do not resubmit the fixed template in the main Template Submission Form.
By following these steps, you can ensure a smoother review process.
