What is an Artlist Story?

Each clip in the Artlist catalog is part of a larger series of clips (in other words, a “story”). This story structure lets users download multiple clips from the same story and maintain a cohesive narrative when editing their sequences or scenes.

There are a few things to take into account when planning your story. Firstly, try to capture a range of shots (e.g., establishing shots, medium shots, close-ups, macros) and/or consider showing the subject from different angles. This variety of shots will allow users to edit meaningful videos. By finding more material related to the content they searched for, they’re likely to download more of your footage – which, for you, means more royalties!

When planning your story, think about the shots that are a MUST and strongly connect to the story's topic. For example, if your story is about a soldier coming back home, a shot that is MUST is the one that captures the moment when he meets his family.

But also, think about the shots you can take that are universal and useful to different narratives. Like this silhouette shot about the couple

In addition, make sure not to upload clips that are very similar to one another (for example, the same subject shot from the same angle, using the same type of shot). Having unique shots in the story makes your work look more professional and allows users to navigate more easily within the story, therefore encouraging them to download more of the content they love.

Finally, make sure you use only your best clips and organize the stories based on a common theme. It is preferred that the stories aren't too big (no more than ~40 clips).
